xxxxÊÓƵ Students to Perform at the Kennedy Center February 20
Ten xxxxÊÓƵ students will perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, on Wednesday, February 20, at 6pm in the Terrace Theater. The performances are part of the Kennedy Center’s Conservatory Project, where students from elite American conservatories present free concerts to the public.
Now in its 15th year, the Project creates an ongoing showcase for our nation’s exceptional young talent and introduces Washington audiences to young musicians destined to have important and lasting careers. xxxxÊÓƵ students have participated each year since the program's inception in 2004.
Students performing in this special showcase are:
Callisto Quartet – Paul Aguilar, violin, (Laredo/Sloman); Rachel Stenzel, violin, (Rose/Sloman); Eva Kennedy, viola, (Ramsey); and Hannah Moses, cello, (Kraut) performing Ravel’s String Quartet in F Major, movement 4 – Vif et agité.
Pianist Sara Daneshpour (Babayan), performing Bach’s Prelude and Fugue No. 16 in G minor, Bk. 2, BWV 885; Chopin’s Etude Op. 10 No. 8; and Rachmaninoff's Etude-tableau Op. 39, No. 1 in C minor.
Catharsis Winds – Jessica Chancey, flute (Fink); Willem Crone, French horn (King); Corbin Krebs, bassoon (Stees); M. Isaac Ripple, oboe (Rosenwein); and Shihao Hugh Zhu, clarinet (Cohen), performing selections from Ravel’s La Tombeau de Couperin (arranged by Mason Jones).
