Introduction
Award-winning Russian-American violinist Igor Pikayzen is widely recognized as one of the most compelling soloists of his generation, praised for his 鈥渁stounding technical ability and majestically lush tone鈥 (The Strad) and described by The Moscow Times as 鈥渟urely at the forefront of a major musical career.鈥 In 2024鈥25, he released recordings of Glazunov and Tchaikovsky with the London Philharmonic Orchestra on Warner Music, as well as a disc of violin鈥損iano fantasies with longtime collaborator Tatyana Pikayzen.
A first-prize winner of the International Violin Competition Luis Sigall and gold medalist at the Wronski International Violin Competition, Pikayzen has appeared with leading orchestras throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas. He has performed at major venues including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Cadogan Hall, and Tchaikovsky Hall, and is a frequent guest at international festivals.
Born in Moscow into a distinguished musical family, Pikayzen is a graduate of The Juilliard School and the Yale School of Music, where he also earned an Artist Diploma. He has served on the faculties of the CUNY Graduate Center and Brooklyn Conservatory, Associate Professor of Violin at the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver, and now joins the faculty of the xxxx视频 as Professor of Violin.
